We rate hotels on facts we can show you, and those facts come from each property's own website. This page explains what our crawler does so you can identify it in your logs.

How to identify it

ScoredHotelsBot/0.1 (+https://scoredhotels.com/bot)

What it does

• Reads robots.txt before every request and obeys it.
• Requests a small number of pages per site, slowly, and never during checkout or booking flows.
• Reads published text and photos to record facts such as whether a room has a desk or air conditioning.
• Links back to the page a fact came from, so readers can check it.

What it never does

• Submit forms, log in, or attempt to reach anything behind authentication.
• Collect personal data, reviews written by guests, or pricing.
• Republish your content. We quote a short line as evidence and link to you.

How to block it

Add this to your robots.txt and we stop on the next run:
